ENGAGING YOUNG PEOPLE

As your Community Policing Team, we are well aware of the stresses and pressure that the current isolation rules are having on you as families with young children. Due to the restrictions, we have had to cancel this years "Lifestyle Challenge" where we would normally be encouraging you people between the ages of 13 to 16 to get their creative heads on and get involved with community projects that they create themselves and can normally win some fantastic prizes such as trips to Disney World, Safaris in South Africa and many more excellent prizes. We, with our media and marketing team have been looking at ways of engaging with them during the lock down. So with our Lifestyle team we are setting the following challenge to all children between the ages of 13 and 16 years old.

The challenge is:

to create something that, when displayed in your windows or garden, will help brighten someone’s day.

Now we know how creative you all are, we see that from the amazing projects you do every year, so we really want you to bring your creative flair to the challenge.

It could be a painting, a drawing, a collage, a poem, a sculpture… anything that you can make safely at home that will make someone smile, whilst they are on their way to work, exercising or on another essential journey.

We know that you can’t go to the shops to get the art supplies that you might wish you had for creating your masterpiece, but we’re sure that with a bit of imagination you can find things at home that you can use (with a parent’s permission) to make something really ace!

Once your artwork is complete all you need to do is display it somewhere visible from the street and then ask a parent to take a photo of it and email it in to us at: Lifestyle@humberside.pnn.police.uk

We will then display your work on our Social Media platform. For more details you can visit the following link: https://www.humberside.police.uk/news/lifestylers-are-you-challenge
