***Witness Appeal - Disturbance of Seals - Conservation of Seals Act 1970*** |
||
Log 265 29/06/2025 was reported to Police.
This log refers to two members of the public on paddle boards and their German Shepherd Dog wearing a orange buoyancy aid in the water in and around Flamborough Head. It was reported that they were seen to be in the water close to seal pups and potentially disturbing them in the water and nearby caves.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident, any video footage or photos of this incident to be sent to Police via online reporting or via 101. Potential offences have been committed and we are appealing for anybody with further information to come forward.
Police identified those responsible and have obtained details. Police enquiries are ongoing at this time.
Can we remind all users of our fantastic coastline to keep their distance from nesting birds and seals to allow them to thrive especially now as we are getting close to breeding season for the seals.
