Local News Update
Hi, Sergeant Dan Healey here from your local neighbourhood policing team.
We know that the world is in a bit of a strange place right now and it has meant that lots of things have had to be cancelled, including many community events and even our regular police surgeries.
Firstly, I want to reassure you that we are still here and we are still working hard to keep you safe. My team, are very much part of the community and know the area and its residents well. We often pop into schools, community centres, care homes and other key locations to chat to you all, as well as stopping on the street to answer questions or offer support.
With the current Government Guidelines in place, we know that for a lot of you it might feel like you don’t have the opportunity to ask us for advice, or tell us about the issues in your area as you normally would.
Our conversations with our communities really do shape the way we police, and to keep that conversation flowing we have decided to host an online question and answer session.
How this will work is, first we ask you to reply to this message with a question that you would like the answer to or some information that you would like to share with the local team.
We will then go through the questions and answer the most asked ones sharing all the answers in further email updates next week.
We will also be posting these on the website and on our @HumberbeatNEL twitter and Facebook accounts so keep an eye on there too.
Now, there are a couple of restrictions… We won’t be able to answer anything about Covid-19 and the current Government guidelines, updates about this can be found on the news section of our website.
Similarly we won’t be able to take reports of people breaching the guidelines via this channel. It is important that all of these reports come in via the online portal on our website so that we can understand the full picture of what is going on and take appropriate action.
I am hoping that we will be inundated with questions over the weekend, so it is also possible that we won’t be able to answer every single one. We will go through the list and will try to pick those that are being asked most frequently or the ones where the answer is relevant to the most people.
Please get involved, we would love to hear from as many of you as possible to help make it really interesting and useful for people.
We’re also keen to hear what you think of the idea and if it’s something you would like us to do again in the future.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Sgt Dan Healey
