Information sent on behalf of Humberside Police

Local News Update

[We as the local Police Team are aware of a recent increase in the numbers of persons in our area possibly homeless or begging in the shopping areas or seafront area of Cleethorpes. We as the local Police Team work very closely with other agencies to support and help any person who is homeless, we fully understand  seeing any person seemingly living and sleeping rough and sat on the pavement with bedding and belongings is a very emotive subject, the issues and concerns for any persons unfortunately in this position can often be complex and requires a variety of professional support and help. As your local Police Team we kindly request that if you see any person or person you may believe to be homeless, then by all means if so desired give them water or a hot drink, but if you would like to give money then we kindly request that you donate the money to The Harbour Place Charity, who support and help homeless people in our area and assist and support in rehousing anyone who is homeless, Harbour Place have charity collection boxes in numerous stores in the St Peters Avenue area of Cleethorpes, this enables all monies donated to go directly to providing the help and support required. Harbour Place provide hot food, accommodation 365 days a year, employ Outreach Workers, and provide the professional advice and support required to anyone who is homeless so the benefits of donating directly to Harbour Place directly are immensely beneficial. North East Lincolnshire Council also provide professional help and support for anyone homeless in our area. For more information please go to, , or contact Harbour Place 01472 355234.
