Attempted Burglaries and Vehicle crimes in your area

Dear resident,

We have noticed there has been an increase in attempted burglaries and vehicle thefts in your area. Residents are reporting people trying door handles in attempt to gain easy access into property and cars. These opportunists have often been seen riding around the area on push bikes. With the summer months approaching, and the temptation to leave windows / doors unlocked we remind you to always keep your property safe and secure when it is left unattended.

If you have any information or wish to report a similar crime please contact the police on non-emergency number 101.

To try and prevent any further occurrences please read through the below advice -

  • Keep your property / vehicle locked at all times
  • Do not leave any valuable or "interesting" items on display
  • Remove from the car any items not required for that journey
  • When at home park the car as near to your home as possible
  • When away from Home Park in a busy, well overlooked area. If the car will be there after dark try to find somewhere illuminated
  • Use a key signal blocker bag to protect your vehicles electronic entry code
  • Consider fitting a car alarm or other security measures visit www.securedbydesign.com for approved companies
  • For further guidance please see the attached guide to keeping your home secure.

    Thank you
