Vehicle damage Burniston Road and Hartoft Road

A vehicle crime has been reported in your neighbourhood

Humberside Police have been made aware of two incidents were cars have been damaged on Burniston Road and Hartoft Road.

Between 9pm on Sunday 21st November 2021 and 7:30am on Monday 22nd November 2021 a vehicle has been damaged whilst parked on Burniston Road. Unknown offender have used rocks/stones to smash the victim’s passenger side front window. Incident reference number 16/115124/2021.

A second incident has been reported on Hartoft Road between 9pm on Sunday 21st November 2021 and 9am on Monday 22nd November 2021 unknown offender have damaged the driver’s side window by unknown means. The vehicle has not been entered. Incident reference number 16/115159/21.
If you saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around these times or have any information about the offenders please contact the police on 101 quoting the Investigation numbers.
Alternatively you could call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. You don’t have to leave your name and you may even receive a reward.
Remember to keep your own property secure to reduce the opportunity for thieves. 
We also advise residents not to leave high value items on display as they may entice thieves.
To assist us in identifying stolen property please consider property marking high value items using Smartwater or UV pens.  You are also advised to register property at which is a free on-line property register used by police forces nationwide to reunite stolen goods to their owners. All you have to do is register on-line and then upload properties electrical items serial numbers.
Crime Prevention Advice –
1.            Keep the vehicle locked at all times
2.            Do not leave any valuables or "interesting" items on display
3.            Remove from the car any items not required for that journey
4.            When at home park the car as near to your home as possible
5.            When away from Home Park in a busy, well overlooked area. If the car will be there after dark try to find somewhere illuminated.
6.            Use a key signal blocker bag to protect your vehicles electronic entry code
