Burglaries To Outbuildings On The West Marsh

Burglary – Shed and Garage

Dear Resident
Humberside Police are investigating a report of a shed burglary on Fildes Street, Grimsby
The incident occurred between 01:00AM to 08:00AM on 05/06/21. The offender(s) have gained entry to the victims garden by snapping the lock off the garden fence. Offender(s) have then broken the lock of the victims shed and gained entry where they have then carried out an untidy search of the shed and taken the victims bike, fishing bag and tools before leaving the area. Investigation number 16/57657/21 refers.
We are also investigating a burglary to a summerhouse which occurred nearby on New Cartergate which also occurred between 01:00AM to 08:00AM on 05/06/21. In this incident the offender(s) has entered the victims rear garden and has forced entry to the summer house through window where they have then removed food, drink and a toy from the summer house before leaving the area. Investigation number 16/57691/21 refers.
If you saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around this time or have information on the whereabouts of the stolen property, or have any information about the offenders please contact the police on the new telephone number 101 quoting the relevant Investigation numbers above.

 Remember to keep your own property secure to reduce the opportunity for thieves. Whenever possible lock your doors and windows in unoccupied rooms even if you are in the house.
Please be reminded to lock your doors and to keep any security gates closed and locked at all times
We also advise residents not to leave high value items on display as they may entice thieves.
To assist us in identifying stolen property please consider property marking high value items using Smartwater or UV pens.  You are also advised to register property at which is a free on-line property register used by police forces nationwide to reunite stolen goods to their owners. All you have to do is register on-line and then upload properties electrical items serial numbers.

Fill in or fit bars over any windows & prevent a view inside
Ensure all doors are secure with quality lock
Ensure hinges are coach bolted and cannot be removed
Fit a standalone alarm or connect it to the house system
