Crime Alert - Criminal Damage

Dear Resident,

 

Humberside Police are investigating a report of a Criminal Damage That occurred on RUDSTON ROAD, BURTON FLEMING.

The incident occurred between 1600 and 1800 on 28th JUNE 2025. The offender(s) approached an Irrigation pipe that was running along a hedgeline near the grass verge and caused a significant amount of damage by puncturing it in a number of places. Not only has this caused considerable damage to the irrigation pipe, but also puts at risk the crops being watered and potentially an increase in food prices affecting everyone, not just the farmers impacted.

 

If you have any CCTV footage (including video doorbell) or Dashcam footage, saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around this time or have any information about the offenders please contact the police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting occurrence ref:  25000089348

If you have been a victim of criminal damage, please follow the below prevention advice -

  • Contact the Police as soon as possible on 101, or on 999 if the incident is on-going.
  • Consider reviewing the general security of your property, including CCTV and lighting.
  • Increase the surveillance around the front of your property by restricting any boundary wall/fence to a maximum of 1m in height.
  • Consider defensive planting by planting spikey plants or bushes.
  • Keep the area around your property free from rubbish and debris as best you can.
  • Secure any items on your property such as wheelie bins, that could be used to cause damage.
