Special Constable Recruitment
Humberside Police are searching for the right people to join the Special Constables team, to work alongside dedicated individuals who have a passion for making our communities safer and stronger.

After opening for recruiting in January, the window is to open once again on Monday 19th April for the September intake.

This is an exciting opportunity for people to dip their toes into the world of policing.

What is this role?

Special Constable’s are volunteers who give up their free time to support frontline policing.

Following training, the teams have the same powers, wear the same uniform and carry the same equipment as their regular colleagues.

What is expected within this?

Successful applicants must be able to commit to a full training program and once trained will be expected to carry out a minimum of 16 hours of duty time per month.

Working alongside both Special Constables and regular colleagues, they will be involved in most elements of frontline policing.

When can they apply?

Our recruitment window will open on Monday 19th April for three weeks. This is a popular program, so we recommend for people to get their applications in quickly if they want to join!

If you know someone who might be interested in joining us then please direct them to
