Op Galaxy in Brigg

Alert message sent 25/06/2020 22:54:00

Information sent on behalf of Humberside Police

The Day Operation Galaxy came to Brigg!

On Wednesday 24th June 2020 the Operation Galaxy Team along with the officers of the Brigg Neighbourhood Policing Team executed two Warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. Two people were arrested for cultivation of Cannabis as a result.

The Warrants were obtained by the Neighbourhood Policing Team using information provided by members of the public. This just goes to show how we cannot even begin to tackle criminal activity without the support of you the Brigg and Wolds Community!

At the first address we located a small scale but established cannabis grow hidden in a outbuilding at the property along with a large amount of processed herbal cannabis inside the address itself. Both suspects were released under investigation until the cannabis can be forensically examined and officially identified. Once this has been completed the suspects will be summonsed to appear at court.

The other address was searched but no drugs were found. I still believe this is a positive outcome as it shows that we have taken information from the community and acted upon it. Just because we have obtained one warrant and not found what we were looking for does not mean we cannot apply for another in the future. That is why is is important that if you are disheartened by the response you receive from the Police you must continue to report the issues affecting you.

NO INFORMATION = NO ACTION.

We are committed to improving the lives of the people of Brigg and Wolds affected by Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour that has an effect on your lives.

As always you can continue to report Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour on 101 or 999 depending on the immediacy of the response needed.

Incidents not in progress can be reported online at:
https://www.reportingcrime.uk/HPrisk/

I am very aware that there has been a few months since my last Community Alert Message but since the turn in the weather the Neighbourhood Team have been very busy dealing with the anti-social behaviour that it inevitably brings.

I hope to have a message prepared to tell you more about what we have been doing soon so watch this space.

Whilst the Corona Virus regulations have been considerably relaxed since I last sent a message you can still report large gatherings online at:
https://www.reportingcrime.uk/HPBreachOfCovid19Guidance/index.html

STAY ALERT > CONTROL THE VIRUS > SAVE LIVES

Take care one and all.

Kind Regards,

Lawrence Grant
