#OpYellowfin – Tackling motorcycle related crime and antisocial behaviour
#OpYellowfin continues to be on the lookout for motorbikes which may be stolen, ridden dangerously or illegally and are joining forces with officers from #OpGalaxy on the first of several intensification days, tomorrow, Wednesday 24 June.

Officers working under #OpYellowfin are dedicated to their task and continue to stop offenders, arrest suspects and recover stolen property, making our communities safer for everyone.
Inspector Mark Peasgood, Op Yellowfin lead for Hull and the East Riding said, “There has been no let-up in action against criminals stealing motorbikes and using them to commit crime and we have already seen positive result throughout Humbersides social media accounts. These intensification days will provide additional officers and staff that are dedicated to the issues of motorcycle related crime faced by our communities.
“We do have hot-spot areas across Hull and the East Riding that we pay particular attention to, but we know that other people experience problems and always want to hear about these issues so we can deal with them before they become bigger problems.

“I cannot stress enough how important it is for us to hear from our residents about the issues they are experiencing.

“I would also appeal for our communities to work with us by providing us any information about stolen bikes, scooters, mopeds etc being stored in lockups and garages, this information helps us recover stolen property and arrest those involved.”

Do you have information about stolen motorcycles being stored or about people near you committing motorcycle related crime and antisocial behaviour?

If you have information, either call us on 101 or use the online reporting form on this link: https://www.humberside.police.uk/report-it and quote ‘Yellowfin’ to our call takers and officers.

Inspector Peasgood continues, “As part of our continued work on #OpYellowfin, officers will proactively stop motorcyclists. This will not just be because we suspect them to be riding a stolen bike or riding in an antisocial way but also, with the support of the motorcycling community, stopping them to talk about their safety and the security of their own bikes.

“We plan to give those riders information about Op Yellowfin to increase the knowledge of bike safety and crime prevention.

“I appeal for you to support our work and let us know of any information you have, not only now, but as we continue to bring to justice those who commit motorcycle related crime and anti-social behaviour.”
