Crime Update - Crime Series Brigg and Wolds

Just another message keeping you updated with the series of vehicle crime and burglaries in Brigg and the Wolds Villages.

Since my message on 26/03/2020 there have only been two burglaries, both in Brigg, and both shed burglaries. One was on Hawthorne Avenue and the other on the allotments on Grammar School Road.

I have had information from Brigg Town Council that there may have been a lot more sheds attacked on the allotment but we have only had one report. Please can I take this opportunity to express how important it is to report all incidents no matter how small either by calling us on 101 the Police non emergency number or by using our online reporting form:

The Neighbourhood Team has success with vehicle crime last night (05/04/2020) after a report came in of two persons trying door handles on Glanford Road. One of the males was located wearing a balaclava and gloves and carrying a pair of pliers. He was arrested for going equipped to steal and vehicle interference.

Earlier on in the evening we also arrested another suspect for the Scooter thefts  from Brigg Primary School that I mentioned last month. He was charged with the thefts to appear at Grimsby Magistrates Court in May 2020.

I will also take this opportunity to congratulate the Community on its Resilience during the current situation as we have had no major problems with people ignoring the Social Distancing instructions. There have been a few groups of young people who have received warnings but nothing large scale as seen in other parts of the country.

You can report breaches of the Social Distancing Instructions at:
