Crime Prevention Advice

Over recent weeks we have seen an increase in the number of opportunist burglaries, particularly in East Hull.

We have been called to incidents were criminals have gained access to insecure properties, by which doors, windows and on occasion, vehicles have been left unlocked by residents.

In a bid to deter these "sneak in" burglars we are recommending some essential crime prevention advice to ensure you are able to keep yourself, your home and your property safe.

- Please ensure your doors and windows are kept closed and locked even when you are at home.

- Make sure outbuildings such as garages and sheds are kept secured and anything inside of value is secured by a strong quality lock.

- You can also consider registering your valuable items on immobilise by visiting their website:

Some other crime prevention advice we would urge you to follow includes:

Keep an eye on your neighbours and ask them to do the same for you.
Ensure the perimeters of your property are secure.
Add additional security to your property such as security doorbells or CCTV. It may be expensive, but they are very effective deterrents.

Report ANY suspicious activity to the police straight away on the non-emergency 101 number. If you see a crime in progress, always call 999.
We act on your information so if you suspect anyone is handling stolen goods, please contact us.

Please share with others using the button below. It is important, especially in the current climate that we are getting our messages out to the widest possible audience.
