East Riding of Yorkshire

23 Jul 2021

Two men, aged 26 and 24, were arrested in the late evening of yesterday (Thursday 22 July) on suspicion of theft.

This comes following the news that the missing 33-year-old shetland pony Peter Pumpkin was sadly found deceased on Tuesday 20 July.

The two men remain in our custody whilst our investigation and enquiries continue.

Inspector Phil Hinch said: “We would like to thank everyone for their support within this investigation and for assisting with our enquiries.

“We understand the emotions and impact that this incident has had on the local community. We have conducted extensive enquiries to get to this stage and these will be continuing.

“If you have any information regarding the reported theft of Peter Pumpkin, or witnessed anything suspicious, please contact us on 101 quoting crime reference 16/72507/21.”
