Vehicle crime Hayburn Avenue and Welburn Grove

A crime has been reported in your neighbourhood




Over the weekend Police have been made aware of two thefts from motor vehicles on Welburn Grove and Hayburn Avenue.  Both offences have taken place over night into the early hours. Items stolen have included a child’s scooter and a dash cam.
 
We advise residents not to leave high value items on display as they may entice thieves.
 
To assist us in identifying stolen property please consider property marking high value items using Smartwater or UV pens.  You are also advised to register property at www.immobilise.com which is a free on-line property register used by police forces nationwide to reunite stolen goods to their owners. All you have to do is register on-line and then upload properties electrical items serial numbers.
 
Crime Prevention Advice –
 
1.            Keep the vehicle locked at all times
 
2.            Do not leave any valuables or "interesting" items on display
 
3.            Remove from the car any items not required for that journey
 
4.            When at home park the car as near to your home as possible
 
5.            When away from Home Park in a busy, well overlooked area. If the car will be there after dark try to find somewhere illuminated 
 
6.            Use a key signal blocker bag to protect your vehicles electronic entry code
