Crime Prevention Advice

Dear Residents
I just wanted to take this opportunity to send out this very last message to you all and to say thank you for all of your support over the years. I am now retiring form the Force, to which I have enjoyed policing the local residents on the Isle.

Please ensure that you take measures to keep items out of view in vehicles, homes, garages, sheds, commercial premises. Invest in good quality locks on  doors and windows.  The Master Locksmiths Association has information. Locks should conform to British and European Standards and have the relevant kite marks. Dusk to dawn lighting is the preferred option for domestic lighting.

Please consider defensive planting to discourage burglars climbing over fencing and gates. The RHS website will have advice about types of plants.  and have police preferred specification products
Many offences are preventable by spending time identifying where security could be improved and some simple measures are not costly.

Please consider marking of property and recording on Immobilise or Bike Register

Please take photographs of valuables

If you see or hear anything suspicious in your area, please contact police using our reporting system like 999/101 or on-line reporting.
