Shed and Garage Burglaries

A burglary has been reported in your neighbourhood

Humberside Police have been informed of three burglaries in the area overnight on Tuesday 15th June 2021 into Wednesday 16th June 2021.
On Kirklands Road, suspect(s) have approached the victim’s shed and removed the lock by unknown means. Suspect(s) have then stolen a pedal cycle from within the shed.
On Hamlyn Drive two sheds have been broken into. Suspect/s have removed locks and security lights before forcing one of the shed doors open and stolen tools.
On Roslyn Road unknown persons have approached the detached garage via the tenfoot  and tried to force the door open. No entry has been gained but victim’s wheelie bin has been stolen. 
Remember to keep your own property secure to reduce the opportunity for thieves. Whenever possible lock your doors and windows in unoccupied rooms even if you are in the house.
Please be reminded to lock your doors and to keep any security gates closed and locked at all times
We also advise residents not to leave high value items on display as they may entice thieves.
To assist us in identifying stolen property please consider property marking high value items using Smartwater or UV pens.  You are also advised to register property at which is a free on-line property register used by police forces nationwide to reunite stolen goods to their owners. All you have to do is register on-line and then upload properties electrical items serial numbers.
Crime Prevention Advice –
1.            Keep the shed/garage secure at all times
2.            Fill in or fit bars over any windows & prevent a view inside
3.            Ensure all doors are secure with quality lock
4.            Ensure hinges are coach bolted and cannot be removed
5.            Fit a standalone alarm or connect it to the house system
