Alert message sent 07/02/2021 17:01:00

Information sent on behalf of Humberside Police

Your neighbourhood Policing team are appealing for reports of recent burglaries....

The Sidney Sussex neighbourhood Policing team are aware of the recent spate of burglaries in the locality and have been conducting extensive work on this over the weeks since the new year, however we are aware that many have gone unreported, especially in recent days.
The burglaries in this series relate to shed / garage burglaries where there has been a theft of pedal cycle, alcohol or tools. Please could we ask if you are a victim either of the burglary series, have had suspicious movement on your land or any criminal damage to your property which would allude to an attempt burglary on your property you report this through the regular channels. There have been no reports for a short period of time which leads us to believe this is no longer an ongoing issue in the area and therefor resources will be used elsewhere to reflect reports / incidents.

Alternatively if you have not been a victim please see the below advice regarding keeping your bike and shed secure:

During this time of the year, we see an increase in shed break-ins, usually cycle theft, here is some advice that follows…..

Remember to keep your own property secure to reduce the opportunity for thieves.

Please be reminded to lock your doors and to keep any security gates closed and locked at all times

We also advise residents not to leave high value items on display as they may entice thieves.
