Vehicle crime

Between 1st October and the 5th November there has been 35 vehicle offences in the Goole area. Snaith , Airmyn, Rawciffe , Marshlands and Wolds Weighton saw 21 of these offences.  

20 of them were theft from vehicles. There have been various methods which include drilling into the fuel tank to to siphon the fuel, smashing windows and entering through a cab door and sliding a window open.

5 sets of number plates have also been stolen and 2 exhausts.
Tools were stolen from a vehicle pick up bed and a set of ladders from a van.
2 car batteries were stolen and also tools from another vehicle.
8 vehicles were stolen and and there were 7 vehicle interferences.

The offences were mainly on a night.

Police are patrolling the areas and the incidents are under investigation.  Please be extra vigilant and make sure no valuables are left in your vehicle overnight. Make sure your vehicle is secure when parked and in a well lit location, ideally in a garage or on drive.  Car keys should be hidden and not left on display.  It is advisable to purchase signal blockers for  you vehicle which blocks criminals from boosting your key signal to your car.
