Information sent on behalf of Humberside Police

Covid Breaches

This evening the Neighbourhood Team have been patrolling around Brough following reports of issues with groups of youths.  We came across at least 6 groups of youths who were in groups of more than 6, one was a group of around 15.  None of the youths were adhering to the 2 metre rule and none were wearing face coverings.  We engaged with some of the youths and educated them in the Covid rules.  Most took the advice on board however there were a few that argued against it.

If you are a parent of a child that is going out to meet up with friends can you please make sure they are reminded of the rules in place and that they have appropriate face coverings (and use them).  Once we have given out warnings, if these are not adhered to, we will have no option but to issue fines.

The rules are there to try and keep us all safe and to stop the spread of Covid 19.  The sooner this happens the sooner we can get back to a more normal life.
