Local News Update

Dear Resident,

Below is the crime info for Humberston only at this time. I will send out another Community Alert, once I have the crime information for New Waltham.


There have been 35 reported crimes across the Humberston & New Waltham Ward for September. There were 21 reports for Humberston.

These include:

Domestic Burglary:

* On 2nd September a home on Queen Elizabeth Road was broken into after the intruder smashed a kitchen window and climbed in. Cash was stolen.                                                                                                                  
* Between 5th & 6th September a home on Humberston Avenue was broken into after the intruder smashed a door. A computer & game console were stolen.
* During the early hours of 27th September a garage at a property on Midfield Road was entered after the intruder climbed onto the garage roof and made a hole big enough to drop through. Power tools were stolen.         
* On the same date, a garage at a property on Glebe Road was entered after window beading was removed with the glass. Two high value cycles were stolen.
* On 29th September a garage at a home on Hurstlea Drive was entered after the door lock was forced. A bike was stolen.         
* About 1.30am on 30th September a male was seen to try a door handle of a property on St Matthews Road. No entry was gained.

Criminal Damage:                                                                                                               

* North Sea Lane damage to garden walls x2.                                                             
* Humberston Fitties damage to a chalet window.                                                                        
* Humberston Avenue damage to Hat stack.                                                                           
* Domestic related damage within the home.

Other crimes include:                                                                                                               

* Six assaults.
* Two making off without payment for fuel from Tesco.                                                              
* Theft of items from a waste skip.         
There have been two reports of ASB:                                                                                 

* Noisy party near Cherry Close.                                                                                                          
* One neighbour dispute                                      
How you can help
Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team appreciates the importance of being in the right place, at the right time, for the right reasons to reassure the public, improve public confidence and reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in the area in which we all live and work.
We encourage all residents to call and report any issues where they live so that we can deal with any issues and also step up our patrols in the area.
If you feel that there are other issues affecting you or your local community that should be given priority, please inform your local councillors or your Neighbourhood Policing Team.
