Community Safety News

We have received numerous complaints about tractors passing through Airmyn village which legally should not be. It is a reminder that a Tractor cannot be driven more than 1.5km on the public road between land/property owned by the vehicle owner. When it is driven on the road, it must be ‘road legal’ in terms of condition and mandatory requirement – lighting. Any trailer must also be ‘road legal’ with any load on or in it, securely fastened by the appropriate means – wood, by rope, strops or thick netting; metal, by substantial strops with corner guards or chains (even inside a high-walled trailer). The Tractor MUST be showing a 360 flashing amber beacon and not travel above its manufactured speed limit – ‘normal Tractor, 25mph or a ‘FastTrac’, 40mph. Only one person can sit in the cockpit. Also if the tractor has no location within the Weight Limit to visit, it must not drive through, if the tractor has no location within the Weight Limit to visit, it must not drive through Airmyn village.
