Seven arrested following disorder on Crosby Avenue

Seven men are in our custody following a large fight which broke out on Crosby Avenue in Scunthorpe this lunchtime.
We received a number of reports of a group of men fighting with weapons on Crosby Avenue at 12.30pm today (Saturday 9 May 2020).

Officers were quickly in attendance and seven men were arrested, all of them remain in our custody whilst enquiries continue.

Chief Inspector Paul French said: “I want to thank the public for reporting this as quickly as they did so that we could attend and prevent anyone getting seriously injured.
 
“There will be extra police patrols in the area today, not only to carry out investigative enquires but to offer reassurance to the local community.
 
“We have seven men in custody at this time while we establish the circumstances of the incident and what offences have taken place. If anyone has information that would help with our investigations please call our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 228 of 9 may 2020.  Alternatively you can report information anonymously by calling the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
