What’s Happened in Your Area

17 crimes reported during March 2020, increase from 14 recorded in February 2020;

a. Residential Burglary reports – no reports of any residential burglaries

b. Garage Burglary reports – a mountain bike, hedge trimmer & chainsaw was taken during a shed
burglary Swine Lane Coniston on 4/3/20; a toolbox, drill & fishing equipment taken from a wooden
shed Elm Grove Aldbrough on 7/4/20

c. Business Burglary report – a portacabin/container was broken into on 3/3/20 Hariff’s Lane
Burstwick and a fire started in the lock up. A cash till drawer was stolen overnight 29/3/20 at a
farm shop on Beverley Road Withernwick

d. Thefts – two thefts reported of scrap metal and gate was stolen from properties on Seaside Road
Aldbrough on 9/3/20; two make off without payment of fuel at a service station on A165 and a
shop theft of spirits & wine on 2/3/20

e. Damage – four reports. A door lock Main Street Swine; glass items from a skip Sproatley Road
Flinton; Metal fencing damaged at the play park Bilton 9/3/20; spray paint was found on a wall and
vehicle Ellifoot lane Burstwick on 21/3/20. A vehicles windscreen was smashed whilst parked in Oak
Square Wawne on 14/3/20

f. Vehicle Crimes – A Land Rover was reported stolen on from a farm in Back Lane Elstronwick
on19/3/20; a KAWASAKI ZX600 motorcycle was stolen from a drive on Main Road Burton Pidsea on
20/3/20. There were no reports of thefts from any vehicles during March.


A 34year old Burstwick man has been charged for possessing/making an explosive substance/instrument with intent to commit an offence along with having possessing of a control drug – Class B Cannabis on 19/3/20

A 19 year old man has been charged to court for possessing a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence on 5/3/20 during an altercation on public transport in the Burstwick area.
