Crime Update

Good Morning,

I know its probably not the number one thing on every bodies minds at the moment but I wanted to provide you with an update on the Crime Series currently affecting Brigg and Wolds.

Since my last message on 18th March 2020 there have been a number of further offences however the type and distribution have changed. Now that the stolen vehicle has been recovered the suspects have been cut off from attacking the Low Villages and all offences have been in Brigg. There also been no further reported vehicle related crime. There were two commercial burglaries in and around the Market Place in the early hours of 19th March 2020. Entry was gained due to insecurities at both locations.

There were a further two residential burglaries on Wrawby Road and Churchill Avenue this time in the late afternoon to early evening on 22nd March 2020. The property on Wrawby Road had an insecure shed entered and the other property was broken into at the rear whilst the occupants were out.

It is clear the offending pattern has changed and we will be changing our response to meet it. The group we suspect to be responsible are set to be moved out of Brigg in the coming days. This same group have been identified as the ones that stole the children's scooters from Brigg Primary School which I sent a message out about on 21st March 2020. Once the suspects have been charged I will be able to reveal their details.

Although incidents have decreased we cannot afford to lapse on our security consciousness. With everything else that's going on please just do what you can to look out for each other and stay safe during this difficult time. The Police are operating as usual but are just reinforcing the government advice to stay at home so please do not attend local Police Stations and use 101 to report non emergency incidents or use the link below to report online:
