Local News Update

Dear Resident,

Below is crime information for Haverstoe Ward .


There were a further six reports from the date of the last report (25th) to the end of February. These include a domestic burglary to a shed on Middlethorpe Road where a bike was stolen.

There were two reports of criminal damage, both at an address on Queens Parade where a property and car were damaged.

Into March, there have been thirty-nine reported crimes to date (24th).

Burglary Dwelling: 3

Between 7th and 10th March a home on Westport Road was entered after the rear patio was forced.Jewellery and alcohol was stolen.

Between 8th and 14th March two storage boxes at Caravans on Thorpe Park were forced open. A bike was stolen from one.

Burglary Business and Commercial: 2

During the early hours of 7th March, the Costcutter store on Middlethorpe Road was broken into. A large quantity of tobacco products were stolen.

On 15th March, a male entered the bar at Thorpe Park. Alcohol was stolen from behind the bar.

Vehicle Crime: 2

Tools and a laptop were stolen from the boot of two separate vehicles parked on Thorpe Park.

Criminal Damage: 4

Wesley Crescent damage to a vehicle.
Chichester Road damage to a vehicle.
Wellow Hotel damage to an internal fixture.
Thorpe Park damage to the security barrier after it was driven at deliberately.

Other Crime include:

Theft of a bike from Thorpe Park
14 x Assaults
5 x Public Order Offences

ASB: 6

Two were around the Meridian Point complex

Trawlerman Public House, a homeless male causing issues.

Oak Way persons banging on windows.

Spar Hardy's Road, youths causing annoyance (YCA) outside the store.

One neighbour dispute.

How can you help

Your local Community Policing Team appreciates the importance of being in the right place, at the right time, for the right reasons to reassure the public, improve public confidence and reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in the area which we all live and work.
We encourage all residents to call and report any issues where they live so that we can deal with any issues and also step up our patrols in the area.
If you feel there are issues in your community that your local Police should be prioritising, please inform your local Community Officers or your Ward Councillors.

We will always be here for you. Only together we can beat crime and make our pace a safe place to live and work.
