Stolen Scooters Returned to Brigg School Children

Alert message sent 21/03/2020 14:29:00

Information sent on behalf of Humberside Police

Good News!

Last night officers from Brigg Neighbourhood Policing Team were able to reunite two school children with their stunt Scooters after they had been taken from Brigg Primary School. This was thanks to the keen observation of our two PCSO's Kevin HORSFALL and Shane MOODY. They were at a property for other matters and thought the Scooter's looked out of place. This coupled with knowledge of recently reported thefts easily identified the owner of one of the scooters. Together they were worth £500! The other had not been reported as stolen but luckily the owner of one of the scooters knew another child had theirs taken and was able to put us in contact with the victim. The victim stated they did not report it as it was only a Scooter and did not think there was anything we could do.

This just goes to show how important it is to report incidents to the Police no matter how small. It's is not very often we get to return stolen property in this way which was immensely rewarding for us but also brought happiness to the two children in this difficult time. It may only be a small chance you get stolen property back if you do report it however if you don't there is next to no chance at all.

The Police are the Public and the Public are the Police. Without the public's support the Police cease to function.

Please if you have not already register you valuable property at: https://www.immobilise.com/

Immobilise allows you to upload picture of your property so it can be identified even it it does not have stamped serial numbers.

Kind regards,

Lawrence Grant
