Crime Update: Vehicle Crime Series

We have recently sent out information regarding a series of vehicle crimes taking place in the villages between Brigg and South Ferriby. Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team for Brigg and Wolds have identified that this is part of a series being committed by what looks to be the same group of individuals.

The incidents began in Brigg and then moved out to Wrawby where a vehicle was stolen from Tunnel Road. We believe this vehicle, a silver Fiat Qubo Active, has been used by the same group to reach further afield to Worlaby and South Ferriby. There appears to be a group of three unknown persons who are committing these crimes together. See attached images from CCTV footage.

If you see a similar vehicle being driven around please report it to Police immediately using 999 and tell the call handler you belive you have sighted a Stolen Motor Vehicle. If the vehicle is stationary unattended please call 101. I have not included the registration due to data protection and it is likely the plates will be altered.

I was due to finish my tour of duty yesterday at 23:00 hours but have stayed on until now to provide a dedicated patrol focussing on this issue. Unfortunately after spending four hours between Brigg and South Ferriby I have not been able to catch them in the act.

PCSO MOODY, PCSO HORSFALL and I have all been out earlier today collecting and collating CCTV footage to try and identify these people responsible. What has become apparent is that not all incidents are being reported. Please can I ask that no matter how minor or even if your vehicle has been entered and nothing taken please take the time to report the incidents. That way we can justify diverting our resources to focus on this issue which is becoming a wide reaching problem.

Please spread the word amongst your neighbours and remember to take valuables out of your car and keep your properties secure. All the information we have at the moment points to the suspects being opportunistic. They are trying car doors rather than breaking windows.

To report Crime that is NOT in progress you can call on 101 or use our online reporting form at: https://www.humberside.police.uk/non-emergency-crime

You can also register your valuable property to ensure the Police can return it to you if it is recovered after being stolen at: https://www.immobilise.com/

Kind Regards,

Lawrence Grant
