Alert message sent 10/03/2020 09:36:00

Information sent on behalf of Humberside Police

A burglary has been reported in your neighbourhood

An attempted shed burglary on Eastfield Road has been reported to us. The offence occurred between 18:00 on Sunday 08/03/2020 and 08:00 on Monday 09/03/2020. Damage has been caused to the garden gate, and one lock removed from the shed. No entry has been gained to the shed, and no items have been stolen.

We are taking this opportunity to offer some simple crime prevention advice to residents.

By taking a few simple precautions you can reduce the risk of becoming a victim of crime.
* try to position your shed and garage so that they are visible from the house
* use a good quality lock or padlock
* cover windows so that would be thieves cannot see any valuables inside
* try to leave large items such as bicycles and lawnmowers chained together so they cannot easily be dragged away
* mark your property to increase the chance of it being returned to you. This could be with a marker pen, UV marker or engraver
* record details of your property for free on www.immobilise.com

The Neighbourhood Policing Team will be continuing to do high viability patrols of the areas affected to disrupt this criminal behaviour and offer reassurance to residents.

Kind regards,

PCSO 7844 Rebekah Simons
