Local News Update

The results are in!

Your local Policing Team conducted door knocks in the Town Centre this month to measure the impact local issues are having on residents and businesses on West Street and Wells Street. We asked about any issues you were experiencing, how safe you felt and how confident you were in Humberside Police.

72% of people feel safe in the area, which is a 4% improvement since last year.

89% of people say they are confident in the Police, and we will continue to work tirelessly to get this figure to 100%!

Noise and anti-social behaviour were the main concern locally, and we have shared these results with North Lincolnshire Council for action against issues such as street drinking, flytipping and litter.

Concerns over sex work on West Street have reduced by 8% since last year and people have noticed a visible Police presence.

21% of people reported no issues at all.

So what does this mean?

As a result of the survey, we will  be paying attention to the ten foots surrounding suspicious drugs activity, noise and alcohol use.

We will also be taking action against street drinkers on Frodingham Road, and will continue our current enforcement initiative against sex trade users on West Street. We have also gained funding for a local charity to perform outreach services to engage the women involved in sex work and encourage them into the support of agencies, protecting our most vulnerable people.

We hope this is welcome news, and please feel free to respond directly to this alert to report any other concerns you may have.

All the best,
Humberside Police
