Hare Coursing activities

Alert message sent 11/11/2019 08:48:00

Information sent on behalf of Humberside Police

Men on farm land with dogs

Please be aware over recent weeks we have seen a rise in the number of calls re: men on land with dogs. Hare coursing involves usually greyhound type dogs being set to run after hares. Money is bet on these activities on which animal will be successful in the chase and capture. This activity is cruel to both the dogs and hares involved and illegal often resulting in injury to both predator and prey plus damage to fields and crops

If you spot any 4x4 type vehicles parked up in unusual areas of farmland or spot men running dogs which do not look like part of an organised Hunt or Shoot please contact Humberside Police on 101
