THORNGUMBALD: Playing field fire

Alert message sent 19/08/2019 18:34:00

Information sent on behalf of Humberside Police

Parents, do you know what you child is up to the summer?

Three local boys have now been identified and spoken to for starting a fire on Plumtree  Playing Field, Plumtree Lane Thorngumbald around 3pm today, Monday 19th August 2019.

A parent with small children playing in the nearby park confronted the boys and extinguished the fire before it could spread. No equipment was damaged and no injury caused due to the quick action of the concerned parent.

The boys were later identified and are referred to Humberside Fire & Rescue Service as part of the Juvenile Intervention Scheme to highlight the dangers of starting fires to prevent any further behaviour of this kind.

With two weeks of the summer holiday left, please speak to your child on the dangers of fire and visit the Humberside Fire Service website for information and guidance.
