Crime Stat Update - Avenue Ward Burglaries

Alert message sent 25/06/2019 15:52:00

Information sent on behalf of Humberside Police

Good afternoon

There have been a number of different tactics used to gain entry to properties in the Avenue area including force, using tools and insecurities. During 64% of offences, offender(s) gained entry via an insecure door or window which highlights a large proportion of these offences could have been prevented.

There have been 47 Burglary offences within the Ward area with 28 being dwelling burglaries which is 59% of the burglary offences in the area, with 14 Shed garage burglary offences and 5 Commercial burglaries in this time frame.  Peak times for offences were between 20:00 and 02:00.

The residential streets between Ella Street and Marlborough Avenue have been the main target area.  Please be aware of not leaving windows/doors open and unattended especially in hot weather as this is not always the safest option.

We are continuing to patrol the hotspot areas and will update you if there are any arrests made in relation to crime committed in the area.

Thank you
