Cash in transit around the festive Period

Alert message sent 07/12/2018 09:51:00

Information sent on behalf of Humberside Police

Dear All but mainly business folk,

Traditionally in the run up to Christmas businesses handle larger than usual cash amounts. The criminal element is prone to see this as an opportunity to fund their own Christmas spending and I'd advise anyone moving large cash sums to follow some advice;

1. If carrying cash vary your routes and times.
2. Don't carry obvious looking cash bags.
3. Allow more than one person to take cash to the bank or car.
4. Where possible take the car to the cash rather than the cash to the car.
5. Be vigilant and report suspicious behaviour.

Kind Regards,

PC 1772 Gary Portlock,
Communities Beat Manager,
East Marsh (AC2),
Hamilton Street Police Station,
