Burglary: Humberston Avenue in Humberston

Alert message sent 04/12/2018 07:22:00

Information sent on behalf of Humberside Police

A burglary has been reported in your neighbourhood

Dear Resident,

At 04:12 hours on Tuesday 04 December 2018, police received a report that a white Mercedes was left abandoned in the middle of GRIMSBY ROAD in CLEETHORPES, near to the JET GARAGE PETROL STATION. The vehicle had a smashed rear window. A male described as white wearing a grey baseball cap, blueish/grey rain coat and tracksuit bottoms was seen to get out of the vehicle with a white back pack.
Police attended the scene and conducted checks on the vehicle and traced the vehicle back to the registered keeper’s address in HUMBERSTON.
Police attended the keeper’s address and came across a burglary that had occurred on HUMBERSTON AVENUE in HUMBERSTON. The property is a large detached property that is fronted by what appears to electrical gates that have been forced open. It is believed that suspect(s) have approached the rear of the unoccupied property and forced entry by kicking the bottom panel through. It is not known yet exactly what property has been taken.

How can you help?
1. Do you live on Grimsby Road in Cleethorpes?
2. Did you see the driver of the white Mercedes?
3. Did you see where the driver went?
4. Do you live on Humberston Avenue in Humberston?
5. Did you see or hear anything suspicious during the evening/early morning?
6. Was there someone in the area that seemed out of place?
7. Have you got any CCTV, that may place someone in the either area?

If the answer is 'YES' to any of the above questions, could you please reply to this Community Alert or contact 101 and quote Log 50 of 04/12/18?

There have been a series of Burglaries within your Ward area and are asking for assistance from the community in building a picture of which people are frequenting your area.
The burglaries revolve around houses when the occupants are away and gaining entry via the rear of the property and targeting Jewellery items.
What is strange in this series is the lack of suspicious activity reports made by the local residents to the Police.  Normally when we see a spike in offences we receive higher than normal amount of calls regards suspicious activity within the area.
The Police are asking residents to be vigilant when your neighbours are away and be aware of who is in your area and who you are seeing and speaking too.  It can’t be lucky that the houses targeted are always empty.
I want residents to think about who is in your areas, walking, driving, talking to residents and are they in the area regularly.
It could be anybody so be alert.  Please report the following way:
Emergency 999, non-emergency 101 or contact DC 2362 MORGAN direct via
If you are going away please do not advertise on social media, however please ask your neighbour to be vigilant and check the rear of property. If you hear a noise coming from outside your address or a neighbour please report it if anything appears out of place.

Kind Regards

David Cave
