Information sent on behalf of Humberside Police

A burglary has been reported in your neighbourhood

Dear Resident,

Police have received two reports that a burglary has occurred in Haverstoe:-

30/11/18 – Chichester Road in Cleethorpes between 08:00 hrs on 30 November 2018 and 20:30 hrs on 01 December 2018 Investigation Number 16/125058/18 refers

01/12/18 – Itterby Crescent in Cleethorpes between 13:00 and 19:30 hrs of 01/12/18 Log number 490 of 01/12/18 refers.

It is believed the suspect(s) have approached the properties from the rear before forcing entry through the rear doors and stolen items from within the property.

How can you help?
1. Were you at home during the times, near to the target address?
2. Did you see or hear anything suspicious during the above times?
3. Was there someone in the area that seemed out of place
4. Have you got any CCTV, that may place someone in the area, that does not reside at the address?

If the answer is 'YES' to any of the above questions, could you please reply to this Community Alert or contact 101 quoting the above reference numbers.

There have been a series of Burglaries within your Ward area and are asking for assistance from the community in building a picture of which people are frequenting your area.

The burglaries revolve around houses when the occupants are away and gaining entry via the rear of the property and targeting Jewellery items.

What is strange in this series is the lack of suspicious activity reports made by the local residents to the Police.  Normally when we see a spike in offences we receive higher than normal amount of calls regards suspicious activity within the area.

The Police are asking residents to be vigilant when your neighbours are away and be aware of who is in your area and who you are seeing and speaking too.  It can’t be lucky that the houses targeted are always empty.

I want residents to think about who is in your areas, walking, driving, talking to residents and are they in the area regularly.

It could be anybody so be alert.  Please report the following way:

Emergency 999, non-emergency 101 or contact DC 563 BARKER direct via anthony.barker@humberside.pnn.police.uk
If you are going away please do not advertise on social media, however please ask your neighbour to be vigilant and check the rear of property. If you hear a noise coming from outside your address or a neighbour please report it if anything appears out of place.

Kind Regards

David Cave
