Respect Residential Speed Limits |
||
|
The residents of Burton Pidsea in particular have raised serious concerns over the speed of the traffic coming through the village for the morning and evening commute to and from Hull. This morning, between 05:45 and 07:45 a speed survey was carried out in Burton Pidsea, and I am sorry to report that those driving at an appropriate speed - especially bearing in mind the heavy rain overnight and the standing water on the road - were very much in the minority. Around 85% of traffic failed to pass through the 30mph sign on the road from the direction of Roos, at 30mph, with a large proportion of that figure travelling at speeds outside the thresholds for speed awareness courses. If you commute through Burton Pidsea (or any other village, for that matter), please respect those who live there, and travel at or below the marked limit. And please drive to the conditions. Physics is very unforgiving. You can expect to see speed checks popping up sporadically in Burton Pidsea and other Holderness locations where concerns have been raised. Please share this message to your community social media groups. #Fatal5 Thank you
