Crime Alert - Burglary

Dear Resident,

Humberside Police are investigating a report of a burglary on Elm Avenue, Grimsby.

The incident occurred between 11:00pm on 30/06/2026 - 07;00am on 01/07/2026. The offender has entered a property via an insecure window and stolen an amount of cash from a purse which was within a handbag. The offender has then left via the front door.

If you have any CCTV footage (including video doorbell), saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around this time or have any information about the offenders please contact the police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting occurrence ref: 26*90944.

This is one of many similar burglaries which have occurred recently in the general North East Lincolnshire area. Due to the current hot weather people are naturally leaving windows open, but please remember to close them overnight and even during the daytime if you leave your property.

To assist us in identifying stolen property please consider property marking high value items using Forensic Marking or UV pens.  You are also advised to register property at www.immobilise.com which is a free on-line property register used by police forces nationwide to reunite stolen goods to their owners. All you have to do is register on-line and then upload properties electrical items serial numbers.

If you have a burglar alarm ensure it is set and working.
