Child Safety Week – Simple Steps That Protect Young Lives |
||
|
Dear Resident
Children are naturally curious and during Child Safety Week, we’re reminding parents and carers just how important home safety is when it comes to preventing burns and fires.
Simple changes can dramatically reduce risk, including: Keeping candles, matches and lighters out of reach Using back hobs and turning saucepan handles in Never leaving children unattended in the kitchen Installing fireguards around heaters and fireplaces Having working smoke alarms on every level of your home, check to make sure they beep
It’s also important to remember burn first aid: ❄️ Cool with cool running water for 20 minutes Remember: Cool, Call, Cover!

You can also come and see us in person, our Prevention team will be joining colleagues from Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust at St Stephen’s Shopping Centre on 3 June, 10am to 1pm, sharing advice to help keep children safe.
