Anti-social vehicle use in Hornsea |
||
|
We have received several reports about a small black car creating a noise nuisance and driving recklessly in the Hornsea area. Using resources available to us, we have been able to track down this car and its driver, and he has been served a Section 59 Warning under the Police Reform Act 2002.
A Section 59 Warning is essentially a probationary period of 12 months for both car and driver, and applies to the car driven by anyone, and the driver driving anything. If during that period of time, either the car or driver are caught being driven or driving in an anti-social manner, the driver will be dealt with for any offences and the car will be seized.
Anti-Social vehicle use is as bad for communities as any other form of ASB, with the added danger of the potential to seriously injure or kill. Anyone caught behaving in such a manner will be dealt with as we see fit at the time, which may range from a good finger wagging to vehicle seizure and points & fines, or even - in the worst cases - arrest.
Please continue to report to us, your councillors and even Crimestoppers, and help us to help you and make our communities safer.
Enjoy the beautiful weather & be safe! | ||
