A Special bond: keeping it in the family |
||
|
Most parents often dream of their children following them into the family trade too, but for Jacqueline, that dream became a reality when her daughter Katie joined the police as a Special Constable to do both; volunteer to give something back to her community and gain invaluable experience before joining as a regular officer once qualified. Katie’s mum first joined the force as a police officer in 1993 and 21 years later, Katie has now started her own career in policing. Katie has been out on the street helping people who need it most for the last five months, and having grown up with a policing parent, it seemed natural for Katie to follow in her mother’s footsteps. She’s always wanted to be a police officer, especially from a very young age and really looks up to her mother who now works in our ID Unit based in Hull. Katie seems to have that duty of care and need to help people ingrained into her very being, as she is currently employed as a Lifeguard and Swim Teacher. Moreover, she is also doing some Teaching Assistant training, and she’s a qualified Fitness Instructor too! Needless to say, now Katie is a qualified Special Constable, our communities are in very safe hands!
