|
Good afternoon residents, I want to start by saying, we have heard you; it’s one of the most spoken about concerns and issue and issue that affects the entirety of the UK. Dangerous and nuisance motorcycles and quad bikes. Starting last month, we have put nuisance motorbikes as one of our top 3 ward priorities, sat alongside drugs and road safety, which are also directly relevant. Whether the bikes are being used in the drugs trade, agricultural and industry theft or are simply being used in an anti-social manner, they are having the same result; Compromising public safety and damaging property. We regularly engage with motorcyclists on UK roads and are happy to hear that many are riding responsibly, keeping themselves and other road users safe. This is not about them; this is about the handful of individuals who choose to put others in danger. The information that the public provide to us is invaluable and whilst it may often feel like it goes nowhere, there is currently a great deal of background police activity happening, including targeted patrols, discreet disruption and lots of development of intelligence. This isn’t just us, your local policing team, because a lot of work happens in our Divisional Intelligence Bureau, who help put together the jigsaw pieces. To further tackle this growing issue, we are putting together a bespoke planned approach over the long term, which will not only be actioned by police, but with the help of housing agencies and councils, we aim to not only tackle the bikes on the road and paths, but identify every source and storage location and strike them there. This all starts with you! If you have any information to help us or other agencies battle this growing issue, let us know through any of the means below. We rely heavily on public engagement to know what is happening in the area; if you’re not out at the same time as us, to make it easy for you to provide us with information, or report any crimes or concerns, we have 4 ways that you can get in touch with us: · Call 101 for all non-emergencies crimes (Use 999 for all emergencies) · Send us a message on here, My Community Alert · Send us an email to Winterton@humberside.police.uk(Do not use to report emergencies) · Fill out the easy 4-question survey below - This takes 1 minute and allows us to have a proper record, linked to location, on issues within your area; we use this a lot when identifying recurring problems.
