Delivery drivers are increasing being targeted by opportunistic thieves, particularly when vehicles are left unattended with the keys in the ignition. Even a brief stop can provide enough time for a vehicle to be stolen, this could be while they are at your front door delivering a parcel.

Key Safety Advice for Drivers:-

Always remove keys and lock the vehicle, even if stepping away for just a few seconds.

Never leave the engine running unattended, regardless of location or delivery urgency

Keep your keys on your person at all times, do not leave them in the ignition, on the seat or in the door

Park in visible, well-lit arears whenever possible, reducing the chance of opportunistic theft.

Be aware of your surroundings, especially in unfamiliar or high- traffic areas.

Avoid predictable routes, as offenders may watch and target repeated delivery patterns.

No delivery is worth losing your vehicle. A few extra seconds could prevent a theft, this advice also goes for your own personal vehicles.
