Dear Resident Thank you for taking the local priority survey recently, your ongoing feedback about local issues of concern is vital in order to enable us to target resources effectively. Although you did not raise Road Safety Issues as a concern in your last feedback, this issue has been raised by other members of your local area and Aldbrough Parish Council so we thought you would also like to receive this update. Humberside Police, in partnership with local schools and the council, would like to address ongoing concerns raised by the community regarding inappropriate parking outside Aldbrough Primary School.
We continue to receive reports of vehicles being parked on double yellow lines, zigzag markings, grass verges and close to junctions. These behaviours create significant safety risks for children and other road users, as well as causing damage to grassed areas around the schools.
We are asking all parents, carers and visitors to take extra care when choosing where to park. Children’s safety is paramount, and responsible parking plays a vital role in keeping the area safe and accessible for everyone. Alongside education and engagement with the community, Humberside Police, the schools and the council will be increasing monitoring in these areas. Where necessary, enforcement action may be taken. This can include the issuing of fixed penalty notices for parking offences, particularly where vehicles are parked in restricted or dangerous locations.
Our aim is to work with the community to encourage safer habits and reduce the need for enforcement. Your cooperation is essential in helping us maintain a safe environment for children travelling to and from school.
Humberside Police, the schools and the council remain committed to working together to address these concerns and develop long term solutions.
Kind Regards Darren R.
