Crime Alert - Criminal Damage

Dear Resident,

Humberside Police are investigating a report of a Criminal Damage to a vehicle parked overnight on Lime Tree Lane, BILTON.

The incident occurred between 9pm Wednesday 28 January and 7am Thursday 29 January 2026. The offender(s) approached an unattended secure SKODA and used an object to smash the rear windscreen of the vehicle..

If you have any CCTV footage (including video doorbell), saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around this time or have any information about the offenders please contact the police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting occurrence ref: 26*12874.

If you have been a victim of criminal damage, please follow the below prevention advice -

Contact the Police as soon as possible on 101, or on 999 if the incident is on-going.

Consider reviewing the general security of your property, including CCTV and lighting.

Increase the surveillance around the front of your property by restricting any boundary wall/fence to a maximum of 1m in height.

Consider defensive planting by planting spikey plants or bushes.

Keep the area around your property free from rubbish and debris as best you can.

Secure any items on your property such as wheelie bins, that could be used to cause damage.
