What should you do if you aren't happy with a delivery company this festive period

Dear Resident,

I sent a message out earlier this week about the awareness of parcel thefts this festive period.

I got several replies from people stating that they were having issues with delivery companies, so below are some steps to follow if you find yourself in a similar situation.

Contact the Delivery Company Directly - Most companies have a dedicated complaints process. Provide them with your tracking number and details of the issue.

Check the Seller’s Responsibility - If you purchased goods online, the retailer is usually responsible for ensuring your order arrives. Contact them to request a resolution or refund.

Escalate if Necessary - If you’re not satisfied with the response, you can escalate the complaint to an independent body such as Citizens Advice or Consumer Ombudsman.

Keep Records - Save all correspondence, receipts, and tracking information. This will help if you need to pursue the matter further.

Legal Action - Consider taking legal advice if you are not happy with the company's response.

If you believe the issue involves a theft or fraud, then report the incident to the Police.
