Crime Alert - Burglary |

Dear residents,
Humberside Police are investigating a report of an attempted burglary on Hammerfest Avenue, The Becklands, New Waltham. The incident occurred between 23:45-23:55 hours on Monday 17th November 2025. The offender approached a garage door at a residential property and tried to gain entry to this. Additionally trying to gain access to vehicles nearby but was challenged and disturbed by the owner before leaving the scene having not stolen any items.
If you have checked and have any CCTV footage (including video doorbell), saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around this time or have any information about the offenders please contact the police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting occurrence ref: 25000160908. Or please let your local team know as we are trying to ID the suspect and arrest him, this is an unusual incident for this area so please keep a look out.
Local patrol units from Grimsby attended the incident once reported and your local neighbourhood policing team will be in the area for reassurance and crime prevention advice. Please report any additional related crimes to this incident if you have yourself been victim via 101.
Remember to keep your own property secure to reduce the opportunity for thieves, remember WIDEN. If you have a burglar alarm ensure it is set and working. DOORS: Double or deadlock your doors including your outbuildings, garages and cars. EXTERIOR: Put your exterior lights on a sensor (preferably dusk to dawn). Consider installing CCTV cameras. NEIGHBOURS: Keep an eye out for neighbours. Report anything suspicious to police immediately.
