Advice - Rogue Traders and Cold Callers

Dear Resident,

Over the past couple of days we have received a number of reports of suspicious circumstances and been made aware of social media posts regarding doorstep sellers visiting properties in #Pocklington, #StamfordBridge, #Wilberfoss, #SeatonRoss, #Everingham, #Bielby, #HolmeUponSpaldingMoor and #Bubwith. 

The males are reportedly claiming to be ex-offenders and attempting to sell items from a holdall. They typically sell household and gardening items, such as cleaning products, at inflated prices.

If you have a doorstep seller knocking at your door, please do not feel pressured into making purchases.  They should all show ID or leave upon request. If you believe anyone in your community is acting suspiciously report them to the police on 101.

Humberside Police receive many reports each year about Rogue Traders or Cold Callers trying to force people to buy things or pay for work to be completed.

On many occasions it is the most vulnerable members of our community that are targeted.
