Dear Resident, As Halloween approaches, whether you’re planning to go out trick-or-treating, celebrating at home, or going out for the evening, please keep these 5 simple prevention tips in mind: Be considerate of others – Only visit homes with Halloween decorations, and respect those who’d rather not take part.Look out for young trick-or-treaters – Make sure children are accompanied by an adult, wear something bright or reflective, and stick to well-lit areas.Protect your property – Keep doors and windows locked, even if you’re home, and make sure valuables (including vehicles) are secure.Stay alert and report issues – If you see any anti-social behaviour, damage being caused or suspicious activity, ensure you make the Police aware.Be scam aware – Some fraudsters use the season to target people with fake charity collections or online sales. Always verify before donating or buying.Have fun and stay safe. Further crime prevention advice can be found on the Secured by Design website here.
