Update on Dave Cave

Hello all,

I have a message to share from PS Dave Cave to share in regards to an update of his progress and current whereabouts. 

PS CAVE in his own words said "I have been your only local Police Officer dedicated to Haverstoe, Humberston and New Waltham for the last 9 years from March 2016 to May 2025. Where we have worked tirelessly on partnership working with stakeholders, businesses and residents to make our area a safer place to live and work.

For the last 5 months I was leading Immingham and Wolds Neighbourhood team on Grimsby West and I have absolutely loved it. From Monday 3rd November I will be facing a new challenge and through partnership working with partners, I will work with the High Harm young people that not only are impactive on the community but also on themselves. This is a brand new role and has never been trialled in NEL (but has in East Riding and Hull) as part of Youth Offending Services within Humberside Police.

No one can say never in policing but effectively I will no longer be returning as your local Police Officer. The wards are now covered by Dan who has been here sometime now and Andy who recently moved across from Armed Policing. I just wanted to say thank you for always being supportive of what we have collectively attempted to achieve and I know that Dan and Andy will do amazing (if not I'll have words 😉)".

I would like to just take the opportunity myself to thank Dave for what he has done in his time here and the time we have worked together earlier this year I have enjoyed and attained many useful skills and knowledge from this experience. I can assure the community both myself and Andy intend to be on the wards long-term to build on the success Dave has achieved in our community.

P.S- Cleethorpes 999 Day will be returning for Summer 2026 when a date is confirmed following the success earlier in the year when first introduced by Dave. This is being organised by Andy with support from the team.
